HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I am posting this several days ‘late’ for reasons which have everything to do with ‘what I did last weekend’.
I joined my sweetheart & her co-workers and walked & talked & smiled & helped pass out candy to thousands of Eastern Tennesseans at …The Johnson City Holiday Parade. (There are some ‘politically correct’ things I don’t care to become mired in …so I gladly said ‘Merry Christmas’ to many parade watchers.) The JCTN Parade occured simultaneously with The Asheville Holiday Parade.
In my own way …I was like fellow blogger ‘randalt’….and was an ‘ELF’ for my ‘other’ state …and for my best friend’s 8 month old grand daughter …who …via her stroller …’walked’ the whole 3 1/2 mile route, too!
SUNDAY in my 2007 life means CHURCH these days …and my return to the denomination of my birth (after 40 years away) …has been a true blessing. The First Presbyterian Church (USA) of Elizabethton,TN is a PROGRESSIVE & inclusive 225 year old institution …and their community involvement in all things progressive is a joy share.
And …along the way …via the ‘WORLD WIDE WOW’ …I stayed in touch with my Hooligan & Ashvegan friends …and followed the news of Cecil Bothwell’s first week of book signings for ‘Prince Of War’.
I also read AC-T & MX on-line….and read the news of the weekend from my old hometown’s press corps.
And …just to balance my personal and logging life …I redesigned my fledgling BLOG.
