I am many years removed from my college days in the 1970's....
......but it is easy to see that...
THC
was and is (in retrospect)
a friend of
'ME'.
Nearly every creative impulse...and most of my writing,studying, reading, and ENJOYMENT....during my years receiving an A.A. in Theatre....and a B.A. in History...... was 'under the influence' of
fresh air, tobacco, THC and extensive travel and philosophic discovery.
I then spent a very successful 16 years in both guest services and hotel management...and then
automobile sales......often aided by the relaxation afforded by eschewing the more common '6-pack' evening...for a quiet "3 deep puff' life style. These days.....more than a decade removed from traftional 'work'(and dedicating 80-100 hours a week to art, popular culture, gardening, travel.....and always....mindful of my CAT and Nature Conservancy......and as a dedicated listener to 'old -fashioned' FM Radio (Country has followed Rock as my favorite).....I continue to believe that
EVERYONE.....user or not...would be well served if we allowed persons over 18 years of age...(a division which would engender wider support and acceptance)...to exercise personal preferences and choice.....
with....
ZEALOUS ENFORCEMENT of D.U.I. LAWS..to protect all citizens....
and recognize, quite correctly, that....
the operation of motor vehicles on public roadways
is a PRIVILEGE.....not a RIGHT.
As long as all parties are protected by our Constitution & Bill of Rights.....the activities of citizens....in their own homes....or in any location not involved in
the D.U.I. arena.....would be what it should be.....NOT THE PROVINCE of our
UNDER-FUNDED, HARD-WORKING and vital LAW ENFORCEMENT or JUDICIAL system.
Other than that......I WOULD MUCH RATHER DEAL WITH
NON-ABUSERS of any substance......but the key word is 'ABUSERS'......not 'SUBSTANCE'.
I know...the choir agrees......CANNABINOIDS hold great promise as a
VASTLY BETTER Intoxicant and Medicinal Substance.....over:
Alcohol, Tobacco, 'Meth', Greed and Ignorance.
I am not a 'pure libertarian'.....just another citizen who
knows that...The Southern Appalachian Region's #1 CASH CROP...
is NOT TOBACCO.
I am willing to recommend a classic CD/Album by a fine
poet,author, singer, musician and performer:
Peter Tosh's "LEGALIZE IT".
