I gosh darn gone and done it!
As a semi-lucid attempt to preface the following announcement....you, gentle reader, should know...I am named for my maternal grandfather.....(not 'Twain'....but my given name)...who was born and .....is buried..... in 'The Great White North'....in London, Ontario, Canada.
(So...I am 1/4 Canadian...eh?)

I named my dear departed Maine Coon Cat....'TWAIN'....before knowing if he was a neutered male .....or a spayed female. If he had been a 'she'....his name would have paid tribute to Shania Twain....who hales from Timmons, Ontario,Canada.
Well.....'Twainy' was a male....and Mark Twain deserves every moment of 'Twainbrain's" PRRRRRRRRRR's.....so ....that is how it is that this BLOG came to be a tribute to one fine feline named Twain.

Now.....FAST FORWARD to RIGHT 'NOW'.
What it is that I have 'GONE & DONE'.....is: rent a 'Villa' about a mile from Lake Watauga....in Hampton, TN.
If I speak quickly ...and with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek....I can say: "I have a 'Villa' in The Hampton(s)'.....which might just DAZZLE some bloggo-licious friends and readers who might reside in more metropolitan 'burghs' where ...The Southern Appalachian Mountains...are viewed as quintessentially typical 'fly-over' country.

Now......I often refer 'THE TRUTH' and 'THE FIRST AMENDMENT'....so I will tell 'The Rest Of The Story'. (God Bless Paul Harvey.)
My new 'villa'....is, in fact, a 25 year old single wide, situated in a 'none-too-prosperous' (thanks... and a tip of my 'Ernest Tubb' ball cap....to John Steinbeck and Tom Joad of those 'Wrathful Grapes'..fame)....area ....and very very very far...from the gated-communities and million dollar 'McMansions' which are rapidly invading my neck of the woods.
My decision to 'GO & DO IT'.....involves my love of swimming,kayaking & hiking....and my regular attendance at The First Presbyterian Church (USA -Progressive) in Elizabethton,TN.....and MY BEST FRIEND.....who, until my 'Hamptonian' decision...lived 57 highway miles from my current permanent home 5 miles from Spruce Pine, NC. (My Love & My Church will now be just 7 smiles away.)
It will be several weeks ....perhaps not until after The 2007 Winter Solstice.....before I deign to invite Twain's survivor (and my editor & confidante)....Little Bit.....to join me in Tennessee. And.....it will be 'a while' until that 14x40 wobbly box might host a proper 'OPEN HOUSE'......but.....I have 'taken the leap of faith'....and have, indeed, GONE AND DONE IT.
And.....as this a 'somewhat' momentous announcement....and ...in as much as my 'true identity' is well known to most.....I can say that I am named for my Mom's Dad.....Cameron Brown.
So..........(cyber drum-roll time)......
